Absolutely add this to your daily plans. I am so happy we had lunch here. The coleslaw is the best I’ve ever had. Even better than my grandpa’s. The clam chowder was so fresh and again, the best I’ve ever had. The 60th anniversary lobster roll deal for $10 was a STEAL! And again, SOOO GOOD! Service was so friendly, atmosphere was a paid actor. The boats, the birds, the faint smell of the sea. 10/10 no notes. I wish I lived here so I could eat at Geno’s every week.

I had the BIL as my server man was he so nice the food was great and the service. The apple pie was so good served warm. Had the lobster roll and fish chowder with chips . My wife got a bowl of clam Chowder.

The food was excellent. Both Jumbo Lobster Roll and Lobster stew were wonderful. The price is little high but good for the location and free parking.

Geno's hits the culinary grand slam folks. Ambience check! Service check! Food check! The lobster in the lobster roll must be off the dock 10 mins before it hit the pot. I am not usually a thin chowder guy but the lobster chowder here is ridiculously good. The restaurant is on the water. The wait staff is on point. A must stop in Portsmouth NH.

OMG....what incredible food! We did not eat in as we were on a boat tour through that area and this was our "picnic" lunch. I had the large lobster "roll" sandwich and white clam chowder. My wife had the BLT and the same clam chowder. EXCELLENT flavor. The clam chowder wasn't as thick as I'm used to, but it was exceptional! Would recommend this place 10/10!!!

Thick, creamy, brimming with clams as tender as a Tyrael’s whisper, and potatoes as soft as the sands of Lut Gholein. I had but one spoonful and I felt… rejuvenated. I dare say, it restored more vitality than any healing draught I’ve carried in my satchel. Now, the rolls—ah, they’re crafted with such care you'd think the artisans were trained in the Vizjerei temples. The lobster roll bursts with the flavor of the sea, as if the Prime Evils themselves had no choice but to flee before its buttery might. In conclusion... Geno’s Chowder & Sandwich Shop was exactly what we were hoping to find while exploring the New Hampshire coastline. This small, family-run spot is tucked into a charming historic neighborhood and delivers on every front. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was classic New England seafood fare done right. Parking can be a little tight, but it’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

We stopped here for a quick lunch and sat out back on their patio/dock. Actually we’re able to get right in on a lunch on Saturday. Our waitress (Pia) was very attentive and friendly. Their prices are marked daily for the chowders and lobster rolls. So you know it’s fresh! I got the house special which is a regular lobster roll with a cup of chowder and chips. They give you the option of butter, mayo or both for the roll. It’s all on the side so you can load however much you want on it. So fresh and tasty! The chowder is a completely different style. Not as creamy as “normal” New England clam chowder. But it has a great flavor. You should definitely try it but just know going in that it is a different style. My wife ordered just a medium chowder and was very happy with her choice. To end the meal we shared a slice of warm blueberry pie a la mode. It’s funny that after a week vacation in Maine and ending in NH this was the best piece of pie on the trip. Overall, a great experience with a good atmosphere and good prices. Food is fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly and attentive. If you are in Portsmouth for a day or two this is a must stop.
